What should I do right now, before I get to the shop?
Power the phone off and leave it off, don't plug it in to charge, and don't put it in rice. Get it to us as soon as you can — every hour that corrosion spreads makes a full recovery less likely.
Can you guarantee you'll save it?
No, and anyone who promises otherwise is guessing. Outcomes depend on the liquid, how long it sat, and whether it was powered on. We diagnose first and tell you honestly what we think the odds are before you spend anything.
Is salt water worse than fresh water?
Considerably. Salt water is conductive and corrodes fast, which matters a lot around here. If your phone went into the Gulf or a bay, treat it as urgent.
How long does water damage treatment take?
Usually 24 to 48 hours, because the board has to be cleaned and then dried completely before we can safely power it up and test it.
Can you recover my photos even if the phone is dead?
Often yes. Data recovery is a separate goal from restoring the phone, and sometimes we can get your photos and contacts off a device that won't stay running. Tell us up front that the data matters most.
